Exercise during and after breast cancer treatment requires more than generic workouts. It requires an understanding of how surgery, treatment, and recovery affect the body — physically, neurologically, and emotionally.

Spark for Life is grounded in more than 30 years of experience in exercise physiology, supported by specialized certification through the Cancer Exercise Training Institute (CETI).
This approach is shaped by years of guiding clients from post-rehabilitation back into strength — with a focus on safe progression, thoughtful programming, and meeting the body where it is.
With a foundation in Pilates, movement is approached with attention to alignment, control, and how the body moves — supporting strength in a way that feels both safe and sustainable.
Spark for Life was created to bring clarity to exercise during breast cancer — helping women understand what’s appropriate, what’s safe, and how to move forward with confidence.
Spark for Life was created by an exercise physiologist and cancer exercise specialist with over 35 years of experience supporting women through breast cancer treatment, recovery, and long-term health.
This work is grounded in evidence-based exercise, oncology-informed training, and decades of hands-on experience helping women rebuild strength and confidence.
Working with Jen at Spark for Life after my double mastectomy from triple negative breast cancer has been incredibly supportive for where I am in this healing process.
Anyone who has battled breast cancer knows the grief that ebbs and flows through the journey. Some days you feel strong, and other days the weight of it all shows up in ways you didn’t expect. Having someone like Jen to turn to during this time—someone who is deeply knowledgeable, compassionate, and truly understands—has made such a difference.
Her support hasn’t just helped me physically regain strength, it has also helped me feel mentally and emotionally held during a time that can feel incredibly vulnerable.
This program has also given me something really powerful: the confidence to step into the next version of who I’m becoming. I’ve made peace with the fact that I’m not the same woman I was before cancer—and that’s okay. Jen has given me the tools, encouragement, and confidence I need to move forward and truly take care of my physical health in this new chapter.
Jen is a beautiful soul who has clearly dedicated her life to supporting women walking through breast cancer. She creates a space that feels safe, stable, compassionate, and empowering.
If you are a woman navigating breast cancer—whether you’re at the beginning of your journey, in the messy middle of treatment, or living in survivorship—I can’t recommend reaching out to Jen enough. She will meet you exactly where you are and help you move forward with care, compassion, and motivation.

While Spark for Life delivers structured digital programs, workshops, and guided exercise education, healing doesn’t happen only indoors.
An important part of the Spark for Life philosophy is encouraging movement to extend into daily life — including gentle outdoor walking, fresh air, natural light, and time spent in calming environments that support regulation and recovery.
Nature becomes a supportive extension of the work, reinforcing calm, perspective, and connection as women rebuild confidence in their bodies. The imagery throughout this site reflects that belief, drawing from natural landscapes that represent restoration, balance, and resilience.
